Songwriter Session: Cory Batten and Kent Blazy

Cory Batten and Kent Blazy co-wrote Chris Young’s #1 hit “Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song).” Batten also wrote “She Wouldn’t Be Gone” (Blake Shelton), “The Call” (Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood), and songs recorded by Love and Theft, Clay Walker, and Rhonda Vincent. Kent Blazy has written numerous songs recorded by Garth Brooks, including the hits “Ain’t Going Down (Til the Sun Comes Up),” “If Tomorrow Never Comes,” “She’s Gonna Make It,” and “Somewhere Other Than the Night.” Blazy also wrote “Headed for a Heartache” (Gary Morris), “All the Women I Am” (Reba McEntire), and songs recorded by Diamond Rio, Kenny Chesney, Terri Clark, Patty Loveless, Randy Houser, and Jon Pardi.

This Songwriter Session, presented by SunTrust, is located in the Ford Theater. Limited seating. 


Attendees must have a Program Pass to guarantee admission to this event.

Program Passes are free with Museum admission or membership and distributed two hours prior to the event at the Museum's box office on a first-come, first-served basis. Seating is general admission and limited.

Members-only benefit: Museum members may also reserve their Program Passes in advance by phone (615-416-2050) or via Reservations are accepted until 48 hours before the program, or until the program is at capacity.  Tickets reserved by members are available for pickup at the membership desk in the Museum’s conservatory.
